Terms of Service

Welcome to TrueNorth. These Terms of Service outline the agreement between you, our valued client, and us, the service provider, regarding the delivery of Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessments. We believe in transparency, professionalism, and making things easy to understand. By booking our services, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Business and Client Information
TrueNorth is a registered sole trader business operating in South Yorkshire and surrounding areas. We specialise in providing accredited EPC assessments for residential and commercial properties. Our contact email is info@truenorthsurveys.co.uk, and we aim to respond to all enquiries within one working day.
When you engage our services, we will collect basic information such as your name, property address, contact details, and any relevant access instructions. This information is used solely to deliver the agreed service and communicate with you effectively throughout the process.

2. Description of Services
TrueNorth provides professional EPC assessments in accordance with UK government regulations and Elmhurst accreditation standards. Our service includes a scheduled site visit to the property, during which we inspect and record key features such as insulation, heating systems, windows, and construction type. This data is then used to generate an official EPC report, which is lodged with the national register.
We strive to deliver reports promptly, typically within 24–48 hours of the assessment, unless otherwise agreed. The EPC will reflect the energy efficiency of the property at the time of inspection, based on visible and accessible features.

3. Booking and Payment Terms
When you book an EPC assessment with TrueNorth, we will confirm the appointment time and service fee in writing. The agreed fee is payable on the day of the assessment, and must be settled before the EPC report is released. We accept payment via bank transfer or card, and will provide payment details upon confirmation.
If additional services or travel costs apply, these will be clearly communicated in advance. We do not charge hidden fees, and all pricing is transparent and inclusive of VAT where applicable.

4. Access Requirements
To carry out a thorough and accurate EPC assessment, we require safe and unobstructed access to all relevant areas of the property. This includes all rooms, the loft space (if applicable), heating systems, hot water cylinders, and energy meters.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that access is available at the agreed time. If access is restricted or unsafe, we may need to reschedule the appointment or adjust the assessment, which could affect the accuracy of the EPC rating.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to manage our schedule and offer the slot to another client.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a £25 fee, which helps cover lost time and travel costs. If we need to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to offer an alternative time that suits you.

6. Liability and Limitations
TrueNorth conducts EPC assessments with care, accuracy, and professionalism. However, the EPC is based on the condition and features of the property at the time of inspection. We cannot be held responsible for any changes made after the assessment or for any indirect consequences resulting from the use of the EPC report.
Our liability is limited to the cost of the service provided. We do not accept responsibility for any financial loss, missed opportunities, or third-party actions based on the EPC rating.

7. Data Protection and Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. All personal and property data collected during the assessment process is handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Your information will only be used to complete the EPC assessment and lodge the report with the official register.
We do not share your data with third parties unless required by law or with your explicit consent. You have the right to request access to your data or ask for corrections at any time.

8. Agreement and Acceptance
By booking an EPC assessment with TrueNorth, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms of Service. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us before your appointment. We are committed to providing a smooth, professional, and respectful experience from start to finish.
Thank you for choosing TrueNorth. We look forward to working with you.
